OUR HELP IS IN THE LORD - PSLAM 121:1-2

April 2021

Psalm 121:1-2 -“I will lift up mines eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth,”

Brothers and Sisters our community is experiencing another tragedy- Another Black Man Killed By Police. On April 11, 2021 in the afternoon, after being pulled over by the Brooklyn Center  Police Officers, 20-year old Daunte Wright was shot and killed by a police officer of the Brooklyn Center Police Department. The report and the video reveals the evidence that this officer was irresponsible and must be held accountable to the highest standard of the laws in the state of Minnesota. While experiencing the trial of a Minneapolis Police Officer for killing George Floyd, our hearts hurt again!!!

As Pastor, Preacher, Parent, and Leader – I believe in the law of God and the law of the land. I call upon the powers to be and demand that justice be done and nobody, even this police officer, should not be exempt from accountability and responsibility!

How do I continue to tell our community, our citizens, our church, and our children that things are getting better when things keep getting worse! My prayer is to look to the LORD for HELP who stands on the hills! Whatever is over our heads is under His Feet!

god's got this - daniel 3:13-25

August 2017

I don’t know what you’re going through but don’t give up, don’t give in and don’t give out-God’s got this. Don’t allow the culture or place you are in change your commitment and loyalty to God. We should not try to fit in just to get in. King Nebuchadnezzar put out a new command over the people requiring them to bow at certain times throughout the day. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did not let the culture or new command of the King compromise their principle and position with God. The Hebrew boys were full of faith and stood on the promise of God. They made it clear that it was not if God had the power, but if it was His will to bring them out. They knew God had the power to bring them out and even if He did not bring them out of the furnace they would be brought out of the King’s hand. Sometimes the facts say we are on the losing team, but faith says in the end we will win. Sometimes we have to pull out our faith files and see who bought us out the last time and trust God is able to bring us through this time. Who do you trust and who is your allegiance to? Before you give in, remember who has brought you this far.

When you remain faithful to God you will receive his favor. Sometimes when God is about to show you favor he doesn’t give you a blueprint or GPS with directions on where you are going; you just have to trust God’s plan for you Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. The Hebrew boys’ faith in God fireproofed them and allowed them to come out of the very thing that was supposed to kill them. Remain faithful to God; don’t allow changes in man’s law to change your commitment to God. God’s got you-What should have killed you, taken you out, brought you down, or made you lose your mind-God’s got you.

Becoming Followers of Jesus - Matthew 16:24

July 2017

Are you a follower of Jesus? Jesus’ followers come from all walks of life and have qualifications in them that Jesus can use. There are steps we all have to take to become followers of Jesus.

Being a disciple is not based on our merit or qualifications; it’s about receiving the favor of God. God has extended and invited us to be disciples despite our sins. God’s invitation to you to be a disciple shows he is over your past. So many people are stuck and can’t have relationships because we can’t get past our past; it’s time to move forward. Once we have decided to answer Jesus’ call in our life we still have some issues. After your call to Jesus you still will not immediately have it all together; becoming a disciple it’s a work in progress. Romans 7:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. Know God is with you in our present situation.

Remember as you follow Jesus know you are never alone. God provides us with promised security John 10:27-30 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto the eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father which gave them me, is greater than a; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one.

One Thing I KNow - john 9: 1-25

August 2020

I may not know many things but one thing I know, you can’t make me doubt Him; I know too much about Him. After meeting Jesus there may be many who try to make you doubt that Jesus is the son of Man. Every time someone asks you your testimony don’t waiver.

Jesus was a traveling Minister and as he was passing a blind man who has been blind since birth Jesus stopped and blessed him. We don’t have to do anything wrong or bother anyone to have problems. Sometimes just being born and living in this mean old world will cause you to have problems. Being saved does not exempt you from having problems be they financial, emotional, mental, relations or social problems. God has you in mind before your conception and is able to use your problems to bring Him Glory. Don’t ever feel like God is picking over you; God will pick you out to bring him praise and glory. If never sick, talked about, or in trouble how would you know He is a healer, a way maker, a lawyer…Stop complaining, feeling sorry for yourself, or throwing a pity party; God is using you for his purpose to bring glory to Him. God as a plan and the blind man trusted God. He didn’t question how God was going to heal him or ask what He was putting on his eyes. The man allowed Jesus to do what he does. When told to go wash in the pool of Siloam the man went without question. While we may wonder what God is doing sometimes we need to simply trust His plan. One you are healed people who ignored you and never spoke to you before will be in your face asking you questions about your blessing. Some will try to get you to doubt Jesus and try to make you change your testimony or even go question those close to you to try to confirm if you really needed a healing before your encounter with Jesus. Let your testimony speak for itself and don’t change who blessed you to make people happy. There are a lot of things I don’t know and there are some things I don’t need to know but one thing I know can’t nobody do me like Jesus…can’t nobody rock me like Jesus and can’t nobody save me like Jesus. You ought to have a testimony when you meet Him for yourself, when he brings you out, heals your body, gets you the new house of your dream, or new job you’ve been praying for. You can’t make me doubt him, I know too much about him.

It’s Rough but It’s Worth It - Luke 14:25-30

April 2019

We have all been told giving your life to Christ is the best and most important decision of your life; that you are going in the right direction when you do. As you journey with Christ you learn everyday will not be sunshine and rainbows; there will be some trouble, pain and clouds. Since you have given your life to the Lord every day has not been easy and trouble free yet in spite of what you’ve gone through it is worth it.

God’s favor does not exempt you from experiencing rough times. Psalms 23:4 yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Jesus warns being a true follower of him will cost you. Being faithful followers and disciplined disciples requires us to separate, prepare and examine ourselves. Separation requires us to have our priorities straight and know who is going to be first in our lives. The love we have for Jesus ought to be greater than the love we have for anyone else. No one and nothing should come between you and Jesus. When called God will prepare you and make you what you need to be in order to do his work. Preparation requires you to study to show thyself approved (2 Timothy 2:15a); this includes attending bible study, Sunday school, reading the Bible daily, and attending workshops.  We must examine the cost of being a follower of Christ. Being a disciple is going to cost you something; you may have to deny yourself, lose some friends, or make sacrifices, but what God has in store for you outweighs anything you lose.
